Is Battleworld actually going to be in Avengers: Doomsday? The latest rumor reveals how the franchise may adapt the location into the MCU.
Avengers: Doomsday is teeing itself up to be one of the biggest events in the history of cinema. It isn’t just bringing back some of the biggest players from the MCU, but also heroes from far beyond its scope with the original X-Men cast. However, in the rush of excitement to see the two sets of heroes together on the big screen once more, there’s one question that has slipped everyone’s mind: where are these groups actually going to fight?
The default assumption has been Battleworld, an amalgamation of universes that plays a starring role in the Secret Wars books. However, given how much ground Avengers: Doomsday has to cover with Doctor Doom, fans don’t think they’d pull the chord and destroyed the Sacred Timeline immediately. Even then, how would these key players all be able to come together if only select chunks of the MCU are even able to join into the fun?
Is Battleworld In Avengers: Doomsday?
Yet the latest rumor for the film suggests that Battleworld may in fact come to form in the MCU, just not in the way fans might think. Insider DanielRPK reveals that The Void, the interdimensional garbage dump from Loki and Deadpool and Wolverine, will play a “big role” in Avengers: Doomsday. While far from confirmation, what bigger role could a collection of elements from across the multiverse have than Battleworld?
One interesting theory is that the New Avengers follow the Fantastic Four in their quest to travel into The Void to discover more about Doctor Doom’s plans, facing off against the X-Men in the process. This would allow for other MCU heroes to fight for the Sacred Timeline in the main universe, only for it to get destroyed at the end of Avengers: Doomsday to join Battleworld.
