AlphaTheta, Algoriddim and Native Instruments have launched OneLibrary, a new unified music library format that lets DJs export their personal music libraries from Djay Pro, Traktor and Rekordbox to USB drives for use on professional DJ hardware – no laptop needed.
The OneLibrary format, which is essentially a rebrand of Rekordbox’s Device Library Plus, standardises essential DJ performance data across compatible platforms, including playlists, cue points, beatgrids and BPM information. Djay Pro supports USB Export now, with Traktor Play (the new cut-down version of Traktor Pro) and Traktor Pro 4 support coming in future updates.
When you export from compatible software, all your cue points, loops and beatgrids (including Djay’s AI-powered beatgrids) transfer to the USB drive and are recognised by supported hardware.
Compatible hardware
The format currently works with:
CDJ-3000X CDJ-3000 (requires firmware update) XDJ-AZ Opus Quad Omnis Duo
This means you can prepare your sets at home in your preferred software, export everything to a USB drive, and turn up at venues ready to play – the exported library includes playlists, BPM, key information, cue points, beatgrids and waveform data.

How do I try it?
Algoriddim’s Djay users on Windows and Mac need to update to the latest version. On iOS it’s currently limited to read-only, and it’s not available on Android at all, so this should be seen as a laptop addition for now on that platform. As far as Traktor users are concerned, our best guess is that this is coming at the beginning of November 2025.
The companies say OneLibrary compatibility will expand to more software and hardware over time, with the aim of establishing it as an industry standard.

First Thoughts
Being able to use the same playlists and music data across different software and hardware has been a much-requested feature in the DJ world for years. DJs using more than one platform have felt frustrated at not being able to load the same information from one to another without using complicated converter programs. So on the face of it, any initiative that lets DJs do this has to be welcomed.
The solution appears to work by establishing a universal database that all compatible software can access. Whenever you add DJ software and then add music to it on your laptop or mobile device, it creates a database of its own – the idea here is that they’ll all share one database. So far so good.

However, as AlphaTheta acknowledges, this is early days. We have to question who’ll get on board and whether everyone will support this initiative, as it doesn’t appear to be open sourced. For instance, we might expect Serato and VirtualDJ to get on board quite quickly (After all, VirtualDJ has actually been capable of doing this for years), but what about exporting to and from Engine DJ, which is AlphaTheta’s rival standalone platform?
And while it appears that both Algoriddim and Native Instruments have had input into the technical side of this, it has to be said that AlphaTheta as an organisation doesn’t have a brilliant track record with its Rekordbox platform – technically or commercially, it’s made some high-profile mistakes along the way that have impacted DJs’ performances and wallets.
However, we’re greeting this with cautious optimism. If the intent to make the world easier for all DJs no matter what hardware or software they’re using is genuine, and if they can get all manufacturers on board and keep them on board, this could prove to be a significant moment in the development of digital DJing.
