PEOPLE confirms that deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department responded to a disturbance call around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, at the Calabasas home currently occupied by Aaron, his parents, and his brother. While no crime was officially reported, the visit raised eyebrows—especially given the ongoing restraining order Richards has against her ex.
Denise’s divorce attorney, Brett Berman, insists the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum was well within her rights. “Ms. Richards did not violate a restraining order,” Brett said, claiming she entered the home to retrieve her dogs after learning that Aaron had allegedly euthanized one of them without her knowledge.
“On August 3, 2025, after confirming that Mr. Phypers was not present in her home, Ms. Richards entered the home to retrieve her dogs,” Berman explained.
But a source close to Aaron tells a very different story. The insider says Denise showed up unannounced, screaming and banging on the door. According to the source, Aaron Phypers left through a side exit as soon as he heard her voice. Denise Richards has accused estranged husband Aaron Phypers of severe physical abuse with sharing photos of her black eye. She claims he choked her, slammed her head into a towel rack, and threatened to kill her—allegations he strongly denies, calling them “completely false and deeply hurtful.”
