Sarah Michelle Gellar has shared a major update on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel series. Originally airing from 1997-2003. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of the most influential supernatural series of all time. Over 20 years later, and Gellar denying that she would return to the role, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot pilot has been ordered by Hulu.
Now, On Gellar’s Instagram, she revealed a set of images that confirm that the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot had its first table read. The date on the script shows that the table read happened on July 21. Included with Gellar’s script is an action figure of her as Buffy.
The title of the series has been blacked out, hiding the new official moniker. As was detailed in previous reports, the pilot episode is written by showrunners Nora and Lilla Zuckerman and will be directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao.
