Brooklyn Beckham Blasts His Parents’ ‘Countless Lies’ In Angry Post

In an Instagram statement, he accused his parents of controlling the family’s public image, undermining his marriage, and prioritizing “brand Beckham” over genuine relationships.

Brooklyn said distancing himself has eased his anxiety. He has reportedly cut direct contact, requesting that all communication go through lawyers following negative press about his wife, Nicola Peltz.

Brooklyn Beckham publicly addressed his long-rumored rift with his family on Monday, saying he felt he had “no choice” to speak out after years of what he described as misleading narratives in the press.

In a lengthy message shared via Instagram Stories, the 26-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham said he wanted to “tell the truth about … some of the lies that have been printed” about his wife, actress Nicola Peltz.

Brooklyn claimed that his parents had repeatedly spoken to the media about him and his marriage, leaving him feeling backed into a corner.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” the 26-year-old wrote. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.”

Brooklyn alleged that throughout his upbringing, his parents carefully managed how the family was portrayed publicly, relying on curated social media posts, high-profile appearances, and what he described as “inauthentic” relationships.

He claimed that, behind the scenes, “countless lies” were being fed to the media to protect that image, often, he said, at the expense of innocent people.

According to Brooklyn, tensions escalated long before his April 2022 wedding.

He accused his parents of attempting to undermine his relationship with Peltz and claimed that conflicts during wedding preparations permanently damaged their bond.

Among his allegations, Brooklyn said his mother, Victoria, “cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”

He also alleged that his parents pressured him to relinquish legal rights to his name ahead of the wedding, suggesting financial motivations were involved.

Brooklyn claimed that refusing to do so “affected the payday,” and they have never treated him the same since.

Brooklyn further accused his mother of harshly criticizing him during the wedding.

He said, “My mum went so far as to call me ‘evil’ because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra and Peltz’s Naunni at our table because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.”

The young chef noted that these moments highlighted what he sees as his parents’ prioritization of “public promotion and endorsements above all else,” adding that, in his view, “brand Beckham comes first.”

Brooklyn also recalled a moment that deeply upset him, claiming his mother declined to support a charity effort Peltz was involved in during the Los Angeles wildfires, despite the couple’s consistent presence at family events over the years.

Addressing speculation about Peltz’s influence over him, Brooklyn said the narrative is “completely backwards.” He explained that stepping away from his family has significantly improved his mental health, saying his lifelong anxiety has eased since creating distance.

“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he wrote. “I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.”

Brooklyn concluded by emphasizing that he and Peltz want a future centered on privacy, emotional well-being, and authenticity rather than media attention or external pressure.

Amid the ongoing fallout, Brooklyn has reportedly cut off direct communication with his parents.

According to a Daily Mail report published Thursday, the family exchanged correspondence last summer exclusively through legal representatives.

The report claims Brooklyn asked that his parents refrain from contacting him personally or making public comments about him, including posts on social media. Instead, he allegedly requested that any communication be handled solely by his lawyers.

Sources say the decision followed Brooklyn’s frustration over media briefings about his wife, Peltz, which portrayed him as being under her control and likened him to a “hostage.”

“David was told to speak to them via [law firm] Schillings,” one insider told the news outlet, referring to the law firm involved. “That was the only way for them to communicate.”
