Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day going to be TOO cool? The latest rumor for the project suggests it may be one of the biggest solo projects to date in the MCU.
The rumor mill has had more fun with Spider-Man: Brand New Day than almost any other MCU project. If every bit of information reported about the film came through, fans would be in store for a movie twice the length of the Snyder Cut. And the new details don’t seem to be slowing down, with the latest report from Alex Perez at The Cosmic Circus teasing a slew of new plot points for the upcoming sequel.
The Cosmic Circus was the first outlet to break the rumor about Spider-Man: Brand New Day having villains with a strong Asian influence, and that doesn’t stop with this report. The project is reportedly set to introduce both Silver Samurai and Viper into the MCU, serving as their return to the big screen after appearing together in The Wolverine.
New & Old Faces In Spider-Man: Brand New Day
However, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to bring familiar MCU faces back alongside its new blood. The rumor states that both Shang-Chi and Hulk will appear in the film, alongside a number of other established characters that haven’t been specified. When it comes to Hulk specifically, the project also appears to be setting up his future in the franchise, revealing a connection that hasn’t been delved into during prior films.
“What I heard involves a connection dating back to the earliest days of the MCU and exploring some uncharted territory for both characters’ personal histories.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will also address plot points left hanging in prior MCU projects. The rumor suggests that it’s likely that the black suit teased at the end of No Way Home will be making its return in the project, with the film also featuring elements of the Kingpin storyline started in Daredevil: Born Again.
It’s hard to give a proper analysis of any parts of this rumor giving just how much has been revealed. Though it is important to note that The Cosmic Circus, while having gotten some details right in the past, has also gotten quite a few things wrong. So while it’s possible that many of these elements could appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, all of them coming true may make this project more stuffed than the last phase of the MCU combined!
