A major leak has sprung from Spider-Man: Brand New Day! The MCU designs of Boomerang, Tarantula, and Scorpion have all been revealed by promo art.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been one of the most heavily-anticipated releases in the history of the MCU. At the very least, it may have the most hype for a project that hasn’t had a second of footage released to the public. This has left fans begging for any look at the film’s characters, especially those like Scorpion, which audiences have been waiting a literal decade to see return.
Luckily, where the marketing circuit fails, the rumor mill prevails. A leak has revealed upcoming promo art for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. One comic-style piece of art reveals silhouettes of key villains such as Boomerang, Scorpion, and Tarantula, with key art giving fans a better look at some (rather comic-accurate) designs for their MCU adaptations.

Scorpion’s Design In The MCU
Perhaps the leak that has gotten the most attention is the one that shows Michael Mando’s suit as Scorpion in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It has become rather controversial, despite not even being officially revealed, with many fans bemoaning the focus on mechanical elements rather than a more natural, animalistic appearance.

There has seemingly been an effort to “ground” Spider-Man villains in a reality more akin to science fiction than superheroes, stretching back to the Sam Raimi’s films trading out Green Goblin’s jester garb for a mechanical suit. If this leak is true, it seems the MCU and Spider-Man: Brand New Day are simply following a long-set tradition. Though if the reactions to Scorpion are anything to go by, it may be a tradition people are growing tired of.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31st, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future!
