Are fans about to get Bully Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day? Crew merch for the film suggests that Tom Holland may play a darker version of the hero.
All signs point to Spider-Man: Brand New Day being the darkest film to come out of Tom Holland’s time as Spider-Man, if not the darkest film to ever be made about the character. From The Punisher and the Hulk having undefined roles, to the looming specter of multiversal destruction, times are certainly looking tough for the web-head.
And the crew merch for the project seems to reflect that. A t-shirt given to people who worked on Spider-Man: Brand New Day has found its way online. The shadowy image on the piece of clothing casts Tom Holland’s hero in a dark light, teasing that he may be more menace than hero when the film finally hits theaters.

Will Tom Holland Wear The Symbiote Suit?
Of course, it’s the small details of the crew merch that caught the eyes of fans. His lenses are a bit narrower toward the top than usual, and there seems to be an odd texture on the legs and shoulders. This has led some to question if this shirt may be fans’ first look at Tom Holland donning the symbiote suit in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Tom Holland’s symbiote arc has been teased for quite some time. While it’s not confirmed that Venom will play a role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it has been heavily implied. So if this crew merch is anything to go by, it’s more likely than not that Holland’s hero may become an anti-hero by the end of the film.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31st, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future!
