Leave it to Amy Poehler to turn a commercial flight into a cage match!
The beloved funny lady is spilling some unhinged tea about a mid-air showdown that proves once and for all you do not mess with a woman from Boston. Especially one who is already famous, already funny, and… already sitting in first class.

The story came out on the latest episode of Amy’s Good Hang podcast, where she was chatting it up with former Saturday Night Live bestie Ana Gasteyer. During the show, Ana casually dropped a memory that immediately derailed everything in the best way possible. She said:
“I remember being on a plane with you. You got into a fight with a guy.”
And wait, it gets better!! Ana reminded everyone that she was not alone on this flight. Instead, she had her baby daughter with her at the time, Frances, who is now somehow 23 years old (which makes us all feel ancient).
Realizing the optics of what she was hearing, Amy was immediately horrified and amused all at once:
“She was on the flight and I still got in a fight with the baby around?!”
Apparently yes, she did. And the reason? It all came about over a man who decided to play manners police at 30,000 feet!
Gasteyer said:
“The guy got mad that you were swearing in front of the baby.”
Cue Amy explaining exactly how this all went down! And honestly, it’s giving entitled passenger meets wrong Bostonian energy:
“It’s a long story, but what happened was a first-class guy, which we were in first class too, was like, ‘excuse me, I’m trying to — you’re being too loud in first class.’”
First class is not a monastery! And Amy herself admitted what happened next was inevitable:
“My Boston came out, let’s just say that.”
LOLz!
Ana, meanwhile, was living for every second of it:
“It was the best thing I’ve ever seen.”
Truly iconic behavior. And honestly, if you can’t swear on a plane while seated next to an SNL legend and a baby (who won’t remember it, anyways) where can you swear? Ha!!
