American Football have announced the tracklist for their forthcoming album, LP4. Produced by Sonny DiPerri, LP4 will include collaborations from Rainer Maria’s Caithlin De Marrais, Wisp’s Natalie Lu, and Turnstile’s Brendan Yates. “There’s a shimmery, sort of silver quality to his voice when he sings high and nails those long pitches,” guitarist Nate Kinsella says. “It’s so beyond what I expected on that song.”
Throughout the album, vocalist Mike Kinsella explores weighty themes, touching on suicide, shame, divorce, addiction, and more. “The goal has always been to say something giant and heavy in a very plain way,” Kinsella says. “On this record, I keep things a little more vague — and I think that makes it more honest.”
